She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Herbert Winnett and Essie Jewel Burgess Winnett; her stepson Alan Young; and her siblings, Wanda Stedry, Joyce Guinn and Carless Winnett.
She is survived by: her husband Douglas Brown Young; her daughter Janet Gentry Farley (Chris); and her grandchildren, Kelly Johnson (Brad), Lindsay Farley Madewell and Tyler Farley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home (120 Bockman Way, Sparta, TN 38583).
In lieu of flowers hers will be a donation in her honor to Alzheimer's Tennessee.
