He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Sue Yates Oakwood; his stepson James Allen "Big Bird" Yates; his siblings, Charles Oakwood and Anne Neeley; his great grandchild Kayleigh Jade Armstrong; and his son-in-law Jerry Lee Brymer.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Oakwood (Delaine), Glenn Oakwood (Doreen), Dennis Oakwood and Brenda Brymer; and his sisters, Daisy Bell and Betty Oakwood. He is also survived by Twenty-two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
