He was predeceased by: his parents, T. A. Davidson and Josephine Conley Davidson; his brother James Perry Davidson; his sibling's children, James Ralph Davidson and Cindy Jo Clough; and his mother-in-law Lucille Carpenter.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Davidson; his children, Julie Self, Greg Davidson (Deborah) and Nicole Yingling (John); and his niece Kathy Parton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great-grandson.
