He was predeceased by : his parents, Porter Massingill and Lena Massingill; his brothers, Hollis Massingill (Infant) and Harold Massengill; and his son Jim Massingill.

He is survived by : his wife Lois Massingill of Virginia; his children, Bryan Massingill of Sugarloaf Key, FL., Deborah Godwin (Tim) of Jacksonville, FL, Phoebe Sutton (Jim) of Riverview, FL., Jody Valenzuela Luck (Jeff) and Julie Valenzuela Quella (Will); his grandchildren, Gregory, Sabrina (Lauren) of Savannah, TJ, Megan, Alicia (David), Danielle (Frank), Ashley, Nathan and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Rayne, Rylee, Aurora, Austin, Lena, Lucia, Ella and Lincoln; his brothers, Oscar (Kay Massingill), Olan (Goldie Massengill), Henry (Mary Massengill) and Charles (Phyllis Massengill); his sister-in-law Lola Massengill; and his daughter-in-law Charlotte Massingill.
