She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha Vestal and Earl Vestal; her husband Clarence Brooks; her son Bobby Brooks; her grandson Christopher Walters; her children-in-law, Scott Campbell and Lisa Brooks; her brother Ernest Vestal; her sister-in-law Wanda Vestal; and her parents-in-law, Lillard Brooks and Florence Brooks.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Hart (Al), Betty Babcock, Linda Campbell (Scott), Joann Carter (Les), Larry Brooks Sr. (Lisa), James Brooks Sr. (Shirley) and Ricky Brooks (Teresa); and her sister Bonny Massengill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
