She is survived by : her husband William Howie Rose; her daughter Samantha Jayde Rose; her parents-in-law, Howard and Debbie Rose; her brother-in-law Travis Rose; and her sisters, Pam Packett (Rodney), Linda Akins (Danny), Vickie Raper (Robbie) and Shannon Harris (Tracy). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Michelle Johnson wrote a sympathy message

“My name is Michelle Johnson. Melissa trained with me 2 weeks ago and her mother-in-law brought her to where I was working Saturday before last. I'm so sorry. I just found out today that she has passed. I throughly enjoyed her and she told me all about her husband's garden, her daughter, her chickens, sisters and camping with her family . She truly loved all of you. May God bless all of you . All of you are in my dearest thoughts and prayers.”
