She was predeceased by : her parents, Clifford Bowie and Evelyn Bowie; and her grandson Devin Michael Stevens. She is survived by : her husband David Menard; her children, Christine J. Lackey (Terry) of Ten Mile, Monique A. Stevens (Dave) of Kingston, Julie L. Sagnol (David) of Warrnambool and Harland Stanley of Topsham; her brothers, Robert Bowie (Geraldine) of Phippsburg, NJ, Ronald Bowie (Wendy) of Punta Gorda, FL and Richard Bowie (Irene) of Maine; her grandchildren, Alexiss, Larissa Lackey, Blake, Tyler Stevens, Jeremy, Jaimie, Nathen Sagnol, Lilly and Eli Stanley; and her great grandchildren, Abbigail Waters, Addison Derosia and Cylus Alves. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that live plants be sent or that trees be planted to honor Joan's memory.
