He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Hackworth and Rosie Hackworth; and his siblings, Orville Hackworth, Gary Hackworth, Leon Hackworth, Glenn Hackworth and Maxine Gullet.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hackworth; his children, Jeffrey D. Hackworth, David D. Hackworth, Tammie Hale (Richard) and Tracy Joseph (Joel); his sisters, Joy Davis (Roger) and Vicki Ousley (Rick); his grandchildren, Jordan Hale (Samantha), Joel Joseph, Josh Hale, Ashley Sheerin (Matt), Tyler Joseph, Jacob Hale and David Charles Hackworth; and his great grandchildren, Blake and Hunter Joseph. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
