She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clay C. Hawkins and Awilda Rush Hawkins; her son John Clay Fildes; her husband Command Sgt; and her children, Norman R. Fildes Jr. (Leigh) of Casselberry, FL, Vickie Fildes Plunkett (David) of Young Harris, GA and Jackie Fildes Butler (Mitchell) of Hardinsburg, KY. She was also cherished by three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; siblings, the Rev. Oliver Hawkins of Lawrenceburg, KY, Alice Hardcastle of Tullahoma, TN, and Jerry Hawkins of Amarillo, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Doreen Fildes died Wednesday, Jan. 23, of complications of Alzheimer's Disease and congestive heart failure at the Stonehenge assisted living facility in Blairsville.
