He is survived by: his sons, Max Trail Jr (Rhonda) of Estill Springs and Adam Trail (Amy) of Richlands, NC; his sisters, Teena, Darlene, Theresia, Pam and Tracy; and his grandchildren, Jacob and Kaitlyn.
