He is survived by: his children, Brenda Cates Welch of Shelbyville, Rita Cates Barnes of Adrian, MI, Melody Cates Kinzer (Vernon) of Lewisburg and Gerald Lee Cates (Diana) of Smyrna; and his grandchildren, Ryan Enfinger (Michelle) of Shelbyville, Troy Enfinger (Gay) of Shelbyville, Julie Enfinger Fuston (Danny) of Shelbyville, Heather Ann Welch of Shelbyville, Penni Jones (Justin), Scott Barnes (Dawn) of Adrian, Karri Jett (Jonathan), Amy Baylor (David) of Lewisburg and Candice Claiborne (Matthew) of Mt. Juliet. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
