She was predeceased by: her parents, James Monroe and Gladys Mary Banner (Smith); her husband Albert Phillip Mathes; her children, Carol June Rice, Phillip Mathes and Michael Mathes; her granddaughter Millie Allison Rice; and her siblings, Maude Nanney, Myrtle Lewis, Nell Smith, Charlie Banner, Floyd Banner, Boyd Banner, Donald Banner, Wayne Banner, Bob Banner, Marvin Banner and David Banner.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Heather Anderson, Rachel Whitson, Mary Ann Chandler, Timothy Rice, Andrew Rice, Bryan Mathes, Wayne Mathes, Daniel Mathes, Mark Mathes, Lindsey Mathes, David Mathes, Stephen Mathes, Lori Jordan and Rebecca Carver; her great grandchildren, Leah Chandler, Aurora Whitson, Violet Whitson, Trevor Rice, Dylan Rice, Eve Jordan, Maya Jordan and Dominic Jordan; and her brother Bill Banner (Kathryn).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Valley Funeral Home (1085 N Main Ave, Erwin, TN 37650). A committal service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jones Cemetery Jones Cemetery.
