He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearil Cochran and Doris Dean Cochran (Crum); his son Ellis Cochran, Jr.; his sister Della Monterrosa; and his stepson B. J. Tilghman.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Duffer Tilghman; his children, Laurene Cochran, Jane Cochran, Patrick Cochran, Dorris Cochran and Nicholas Cochran; his brothers, Pearil Junior Cochran (Debra) of Bruceton, TN and Steven Crum (Terry) of Lexington, KY; his siblings' children, Michael Crum and Maureen Piening (Chad); his great-niece Mallory; and his great-nephew Drew Piening.
The family requests memorials be sent in lieu of flowers to a charity of the donor's choice.
