He was predeceased by : his parents, A. C. Owens and Artie Bourland Owens; his stepsons, Hilliard O'Neal, Lyn Jordan and Russell Jordan; and his siblings, Marguerite Owens Deason (Claude), Mildred Owens Ferguson (John), Kicky Owens Ziegler (Joe), Gracie Owens Morrison (Bill), Laverne Owens (Maxine), Vance Owens (Laverne) and Max Owens.

He is survived by : his former life partner Julia O'Neal; his wife Mary Lois Jordan; and his grandchildren, Shane Jordan (Emily), Kameron Jordan (Anna), Justin O'Neal, Eli Jordan, Moriah O'Neal Schottel of Collierville, TN and Jennifer Jordan McGimsey Shreveport (Brian). He is also survived by 14 Great-Grandchildren.
