He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Charles and Alma Vest Vanhoy; his siblings, Sherrill Vanhoy, Robert Vanhoy, Roger Vanhoy and Evelyn "Sissy" Vanhoy Gregg; his niece Sherry Vanhoy Humphries; and his father-in-law Howell Rasnick.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Rasnick Vanhoy; his children, Rhonda Hazelwood (Gary), Robin Bolton, Jodye Tipton (Chris), Thomas Ledford (Amanda) and Nicole Vanhoy; his grandchildren, Lexi Wilson (Dan), Whitney Blevins (Brandon), Nathan Bishop, Chrisann Tipton, Hannah Bolton and Caroline Tipton; and his great grandchildren, Lanie Wilson, Brycen and Colby Blevins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 706 1st Street, Elizabethton, Tennessee 37643 in memory of Jerry Vanhoy.
