She was predeceased by: her parents, George Tate and Margaret Dyer Tate; her siblings, Elizabeth Howell, Lynn Clyde Tate, Clifford Tate, May Collins and Carolyn Tate; her husbands, Leo E. "Buck" Sanders and Ralph E. Shirley, Sr.; her son Lanny Sanders; her grandson Brian Shirley; her son-in-law Ralph E. Shirley, Jr.; and her stepgranddaughter Jeanine Jordan.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Sanders (Susie), Starlena Pyburn, Rene Shirley and Teresa Lewis (Jeff); and her sisters, Mildred Brown, Georgia Dishroon, Dorothy Sanders and Jeanetta Finch. She is also survived by grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
