He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Thompson and Maudie Lawson Thompson; his siblings, Ralph, Dairl Thompson, Patsy (King) and Flora Opal (Morgan); and his former wife Agnes Thompson (Armes).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Thompson (Massengale) of Winfield, TN.; his son Michael Trent Thompson (Amy) of Jefferson City, TN.; his stepchildren, Eddie Ray Massengale (Delora) of Murfreesboro, TN. and Renee Chitwood (Bill) of Winfield, TN.; his brother Willie Thompson of Cincinnati, Ohio.; and his nieces and nephews, Glen, Johathan King of Strunk, KY, Bobby Dude, Duke Thompson of Cincinnati, JayLee Morgan of McDonough, GA, Wayne Thompson of Cincinnati, OH, Tommy Thompson of Sterling, MI, Teresa Harrell (Thompson) of Corbin, KY, Patricia Thompson Honeger of Strunk, KY and Geri Thompson of Bright, NC..
