He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherwood Lanter and Maude Frye; his daughter Patricia Lanter; his sister Sharon Potter; his niece Terry Stephens; and his nephew Phillip Stephens.
He is survived by: his stepfather Junior Frye; his wife Dessel Rose Lanter; his children, Stephanie Lanter, Rebecca Lanter and Shawn Lanter; his grandchildren, Gavin Lanter, Destiny Lackey, Katelynn Lackey, Kaylee Lalonde and Patricia Miller; his great grandchild Stormy Lackey; and his half-brother Bill Lanter. He is also survived by other family member and friends.
