He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Gracey and Victoria Marie Harkins (Girvin); and his grandson Danny Harkins. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Stone; his brother Gary Harkins (Becky); his children, Carl Harkins (Eileen), Paul Harkins (Beth) and Kim Loos (Brad); his grandchildren, Eleanor Cochran (Lucas), Gregory Harkins, Richard Harkins, Constance Harkins, Lindsey Hicks (Dustin) and Haley Loos; and his great grandchild Annabel Gilmore.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Girvin Harkins and his commitment to education may be made to The W. Norton Jones, Jr. Professorship at McMurry University or to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
