He was predeceased by: his father Billy Joe Templeton; his grandparents, Walter, Hilda Lewis, William and Noni "Dude" Templeton; and his friend Fred Killough.
He is survived by: his mother Joyce Lewis Templeton of Hearne; his wife Laura Templeton of Hearne; his children, Toni Templeton (Daniel Hinojosa) of Austin, Teja Templeton Ruiz (Adam) of College Station, Teri Barham (Dustin) of Hearne, Lauren Calhoun (Matthew) of Cedar Park and Preston Templeton; his daughter-in-law Jaid Bonner of Hearne; his sister Lisa Johnson (James) of Franklin; his grandchildren, Zach Ruiz, Kait Ruiz, Trace Ortega, Kyle Ruiz, Tyli Ortega, Olivia Ruiz and Trigg Barham; his niece Jessica Pruitt (Eric); his great-nephews, Wade of Bremond and Mack of Bremond; his great-niece Sally Pruitt of Bremond; his niece Erica Wilson (Chris); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ayden Martin of Alaska, Blake of Alaska and Wes Johnson of Franklin.
