He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Kopecky and Francis Myer Kopecky; his siblings, Arnold Kopecky, Lorene Speffek and Helen Kopecky; and his grandson Matthew Lane Nelson.
He is survived by : his former life partner Doris Helga Karper; his wife Doris Kopecky of Alba; his children, Mike Nelson (Jami) of Rowlett, Steven Nelson (Laurie) of Katy and Shannon Nelson (Daniel) of Blueridge; and his brother Victor Dan Kopecky of Wilmington. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
