He is survived by: his wife Guadalupe V. Barrera; his children, Eluterio Barrera III, Patricia Barrera (Paul), Gilbert V. Barrera (Jessica), Emilia Davila, Abel Ybarra, Albert Ybarra, Ismael Ybarra, Isabel Hernandez, Gracie Cavazos (Roger), David Ybarra and Flor Salinas; his siblings, Enede Barrera (Lucinda), Beatrice Resendez and Rene Barrera; and his siblings-in-law, Enrique Perez, Joe Vela, Johnny Vela (Cipriana), Yolanda Barrera, Alicia Barrera, Consuelo Villagran, Rosie Hernandez and Yolanda Vela. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A reception was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (801 S Reynolds St, Alice, TX 78332). A rosary was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
