He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramiro Cantu Sr. and Maria Lamar Fernandez; his son Eladio Gomez; his sister Maria Lamar Vera (Nicolas); and his brother-in-law Simon Moreno.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Gomez of Alice, Texas; his children, Daniella Gomez (Rolando Dimas) of Calallen and Cindy Rios (Raul) of Alice, Texas; his grandchildren, Eli Gomez, Clarissa Gomez (Brandon Herrera), Justin Gomez, Alynna Dimas, Elena Dimas, Ian Dimas, Isaac Cantu, Oscar Cantu and Isaih Cantu; and his siblings, George Cantu (Juanita), Victor Cantu, Maria Socorro Rios (Ruben), San Juanita Garcia, Zaida Bueno, Marta Garcia (Angel Sr.), Brunilda Benavides, Odilia Garcia (Tomas) and Cynthia Moreno. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holmgreen Mortuary (2061 E Main St, Alice, TX 78332). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Esperanza Baptist Church (451 Co Rd 122, Alice, TX 78332).
