He was predeceased by : his parents, Reynaldo Garza and Elvira Bazan; his wife Barbara Garza; his daughter Penny Renee Garza; and his sister Elidia Castillo.

He is survived by : his sons, Juan Garza, Robert Garza (Carolyn), Alexander Garza and David Garza (Donna); and his siblings, Roel Garza, Raul Garza, Badelia Garza, Yolanda Rizo, Carmen Moreno and Lupita Garza. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren 5 Great-Grandchildren.
