With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty Jean Speed (Alvin, Texas), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty Jean left this world on June 8, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank McKinney and Marguerite McKinney (Woodward); her husband George Speed; her sons, Larry Lynch and Brian Lynch; and her brother Robert McKinney.
She is survived by: her sisters, Carolyn Del Bello and Virginia Lee; her daughter Nancy Goodson (Charlie); and her grandchildren, Amy Goodson, Julie Nutt (JR), Amanda Frost (Jeff), Danny Lynch (Carrie), Ryan Hill, Brittney Hill, Leslie Lynch, Megan Hardy (Robert) and Elizabeth Brunk (Hunter).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (611 W South St, Alvin, TX 77511). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to Meals on Wheels of Alvin, an organization that Betty lovingly served for many years.
