She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy H Myers and Garnett L Myers (May); her siblings, Theola Griffin, Guy "Billy" Myers, Wayne "Buddy" Myers, Harriett Goldsmith, Roger Myers and Lois Flanagan; and her former husband Jack Carter.

She is survived by: her husband Luther Edward "Ed" Shook; her sister Claire Parker; her children, Wade Carter (Barbara), Randall "Randy" Carter, Jacqulyn "Jacquie" Kirkwood (Joe) and Christopher "Chris" Carter; her grandchildren, Colby, Travis Carter, Kelly Harris-Allen (Jay), Aaron Carter (Nikki), Krista Lancaster, Kasey Trimble, Katie McDaniel (Jared), Nathan Carter and Whitney Reed (Andy); and her great grandchildren, Scarlett, Browning Harris, Peyton, Karsten, Madison Allen, Emrey, Kenna Carter, Chase, Gage Robinson, Noah, Joshua Lancaster, Giovanni Trimble, Miles, Arden, Sloan McDaniel, Jack, Cecilia and Samuel Reed.
