He was predeceased by : his parents, Inocencio Alaniz and Rufugia Alaniz; his siblings, Maria Loyza and Senida "Sandy" Pena; and his son-in-law Daniel McBride.

He is survived by : his wife Diane Alaniz; his children, Tony Alaniz (Dana), Michele Williams (Paul) and Christina Alaniz; his siblings, Sammy Alaniz (Gloria) and J. R. Alaniz (Janette); and his grandchildren, Cody Rey Brown, Justin Alaniz, Dakota Brown, Tony Jacob Alaniz, Cody Lee Alaniz, Brianne Huck, Stormie Fernandez and Ryan Rowlett.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church (1405 NE 301, Andrews, TX 79714).
