She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Newman. She is survived by: her children, Dianne Prokuda (Roger), Delmar Newman (Sydney) and David Newman (Barbara). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of attending a public service or sending flowers, donations in memory of Ruth can be made to Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre or a charity of one's choice.
