He is survived by: his wife Elva Huerta; his sons, Santos Hernandez of Aransas Pass, Ricardo Hernandez of Aransas Pass, TX, Jerry Hernandez (Rhonda) of Albuquerque, NM and Daniel Hernandez (Amanda "Mandi") of Ingleside, TX; his granddaughters, Brenda Rutkowske (Kyle) of Alvin, TX, Donna Hernandez (John Furman) of Aransas Pass, TX, Miranda Cruz (Gary) of Aransas Pass, TX and Regina Diaz of Aransas Pass, TX.; and his siblings, Mary Burckhatter, Ofelia Cypret (Larry), Linda Rogers (Jim), Julie Wright (Johnny), Dorothy King, Steven Huerta of Stillwater, OK and Ascuncion Huerta Jr. (Lynda) of Bernice, OK..
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A rosary was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home-Aransas Pass (2003 W Wheeler Ave, Aransas Pass, TX 78336). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes & Crematory - Aransas Pass (2003 W Wheeler Ave, Aransas Pass, TX 78336). A graveside service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the San Antonio de Padua Cemetery (2140 Hwy 35 Bypass, Aransas Pass, TX 78336).
