She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis Hawkins and Mamie Hawkins; her brother Bobby W. Hawkins; her son Jimmie W. Yates; and her former husband Oscar Joe Banks.
She is survived by: her husband Thomas Gary Johnson of Argyle, Texas; her daughters, Melba Hergenrader of Argyle and Twyla Williams (Joe) of Flower Mound, Texas; her sister Bettie Stout of De Kalb, Texas; and her grandchildren, Darla Colvin Berg (Chuck) of Keller, Tammie Yates Erwin (Lee) of Texarkana, Chad Colvin (Cassandra McCollum) of Argyle, Shane Yates of De Kalb and Jason Coleman (Sharla) of Highland Village. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and many more relatives and friends.
