She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Chalk, Sr. and Flossie Mae Hayes Chalk; and her brother Tommy Chalk, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Gary Alan Gordon; her daughter Genesis Alana Joycelyn Gordon; her siblings, Margie Stokes (James), Barbara Draper (Michael), Leroy Chalk, Jr. and Dwayne Chalk; her cousin Delores Hayes Melton; and her siblings' children, Colandra Chalk, Ronika Robinson, Robyn Okra, Alexandra Chalk, Sheryel Hill, Debbie Crooms, Meredith Lavallais (Tristan), Reginald Robinson (Adrin), Tommy Chalk, Jr. (Lashawnda) and Charles Melton, II. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
As a 35-year breast cancer survivor, Brenda was active with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Race for the Cure.
