He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Chaplin and Edith Chaplin; his siblings, Rosemary, Louis, John and Joyce Louise (Cate); and his daughter Daralynn Louise Chaplin.

He is survived by : his children, Ric Chaplin and Laura Clingan; his son-in-law Brad Clingan; his daughter Janet Harris; his close friend Jo Gibbs; and his grandchildren, Kathryn Nguyen, David Phillips, Alex Harris, Jake Harris, Alan Clingan, Randy Harris and Jonathan Clingan. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
