He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Wallace and Ruby Freeman Key; his wife Marian Taylor; his sons, William Milton Key, Jr. and Robert Taylor Key; his daughters-in-law, Deborah and Nancy; his grandchildren, Jordan Key (Sarah), Sydney Benton (Chris) and Joanna Key; his great grandchild Cooper Key; and his sibling's children, John Key, Paul Key and Eleanor Roberts.
