We are sad to announce that on April 12, 2023, at the age of 83, Joan Birmingham McCord of Atlanta, Texas, born in Linden, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Amos Harris and Mellie Hughes Harris; her former life partner Neal Birmingham; her brothers, Raymond Harris and Kerlin Harris; and her sisters-in-law, Charla Harris and Pat Harris.

She is survived by : her husband Robert McCord; her children, Sheryl Smith Curry (Dwayne), Becky Birmingham Montgomery (Art Fischman), Cheryl McCord, Mark Birmingham (Doris) and Chris McCord (Angie); her godson Paul Holder; her brother James Harris; her grandchildren, Jessica Clayton (Dillon), James Waylon Cornett (Heather), Amaris Birmingham, Clark Birmingham, Brock McCord and Blair McCord; her great grandchildren, Brooklynne, Brayson and Hailey Dalrymple; her great great grandchild Cooper Cunningham; and her sister-in-law LaJuan Harris. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
