Joe left this world on October 10, 2025 at the age of 75, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Carathers and Helen Carathers; his siblings, Ann Benefield and Jackie Carathers; and his grandson Brayden Carathers.
He is survived by: his children, Tonya Howard (Jeremiah), Jodi Watkins (Jonnie) and Corey Carathers (Erika); his sister Carolyn Segelhorst; and his close friend Andrew Reed.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hanner Funeral Service (103 W Main St, Atlanta, TX 75551). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
