It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Neal Rainey of Atlanta, Texas, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on January 16, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Rainey and Anice Rainey; his daughter Shanna Boone; his grandson Andrew Chavez; and his sisters, Ginger Smith and Bobbie Salisbury.

He is survived by : his children, Joan Avant (John Martin) of Atlanta, Joey Talbert (LaCresia) of Hughes Springs and John Doland Avant of Mount Vernon, Alabama; his sister Peggy DuBois (Eddie) of Loxley, Alabama; his grandchildren, Brittany Webb, Jonathan Boone, Rod Allen Chavez, Alex Chavez, Kevin Tolbert and Easton Avant; and his great grandchildren, Madison Boone of Jonah Boone, J. D and Tolbert.
