As Maxine Burton departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Maxine Burton may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Maxine Burton leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ezell Young; her parents, Francis Adrana Richmond Burton and Odell Burton Sr.; and her siblings, Eldridge Burton, Eleanor Matthews and Odell Burton.
She is survived by: her daughter Lawanda Kaye Young-Green; her sister Wanda Jean Burton; and her sisters-in-law, Brenda Appleton (Ron Appleton), Doris Shaw (Dan Shaw), Joyce Jones-Ingram (Dennis Ingram) and Voycell Neal (Steven Neal). She is also survived by relatives, nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Angels Catholic Church (740 W 28th St, Indianapolis, IN 46208). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
