He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Smith and Hazel Clements Smith; and his son-in-law Alan Hastings Marks. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Mobley Smith; his children, Laurie Ann and Cynthia Lynn (Robert Lee Blake); his grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Marks (Harry Isensee III), James Hastings Marks (Kelsey Peltier Marks) and Katherine LeeAnn Brown (Bo Brown); and his sister Joyce Smith Knight.
