He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Concepcion (Fuentes) and Joaquin Fuentes Garcia, Sr.; his daughter Rachel "Katy" Garcia; his son-in-law Jose Garcia; and his siblings, Magdelena Garcia, Everado C. Garcia and Jose Luis Vara.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Kay Sanchez; his children, Mary Rodriguez (Ernesto), Ana Belle Rodriguez (Julio) of Jensen Beach, Jessica G. Rader (Jason) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Joaquin Garcia, III (Pei Qian) of Austin and Michael Garcia (Mariem) of Ripon Wisconsin; and his siblings, Diana Castro of Uvalde, Elida Cabral of Uvalde, Mary Prado of Uvalde and Guadalupe Garcia of Uvalde. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
