She was predeceased by: her parents, Flora English Goodwin and Joe Wiley Rice of Odessa; her stepmother Ida Shaw Rice of Odessa; her sister Ida Jean Rice Allbright (Doe) of Athens; and her stepsiblings, Helen McLendon (Alpine) of Odessa and Dan McLendon of San Antonio.
She is survived by: her children, Sam P Copeland III (Marilyn) of Traverse City, Michigan, Laura Eldredge of Houston, Joe Wiley Copeland (Gina) of Austin and Helen Walker (Stephen) of Kyle; her grandson Ross Daniel Copeland of Los Angeles, California; her children, Matthias Joseph Copeland (Max) of Traverse City, Michigan, Franklin Lee Eldredge (Caroline) of Houston, Alice Katherine Eldredge (Ali) of Atlanta, Georgia, Alex Wiley Copeland (Emily) of Austin, Clare Mackenzie Copeland of Dallas, Timothy Christopher Walker of Bristol, UK and Natalie Joy Walker of Austin; her great grandchild Elijah Jones Eldredge of Houston; Cora Alice and Martha Jane.
