She was predeceased by: her parents, Prajedes Medina Garibay and Robert Garibay, Sr.; her husband Captain Augustine Vega; her son Augustine Vega, Jr.; and her siblings, Robert Garibay, Jr., Grace Carrizales, Dora Davila, Virginia Estrada, Adeline Quiñones, Lawrence Garibay, Arthur Garibay and John Garibay.
She is survived by: her children, Vivian Angela (Arthur), Liz Buitron (Felix Jr.), Katherine Arroyo Perez (Marcelo) and Marcos Vega (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Chrystal Salvage (Kenneth Jr.), Heather Curtis (Joe), Austin Buitron (Rachael), Patrick Mugica (Brittany), Jacob Arroyo (Maddy), Briana Vega and Teigan Vega; her great grandchildren, Preston, Aubrie, Brynlee, Harper Mugica, Garrett, Brandon Curtis and Aurora Salvage; and her sister Linda Sherer.
