He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexandra Tanase and Costica Tanase; and his brother Gheorghe Tanase. He is survived by: his wife Minodora Tanase; his children, Romeo Valentin Tanase (Laura Tanase), Alina Tanase, Ramona Tanasa, Corina Tanasa and Lavinia Tanasa; his grandchildren, Alexa Tanase, Evan Tanase and Natalie Tanase; and his siblings, Elena, Geta, Tanta, Anica and Tinca.
