He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Hernandez and Teodora Hernandez; his aunt Mercedes Ybaven (Magadelena "Maggie" Hernandez); his son Samuel Hernandez; his sister Anita Dutchover; his brother-in-law Ismael Dutchover; and his brother Rafael Hernandez.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Martha Hernandez Mondragon (Marty) and Armando Mondragon Jr.; his grandchildren, Dailynn Puente (Noel Puente) and Jared Mondragon; his great grandchild Camila Puente; and his sibling's children, Lisa Escovedo (Arturo "Scobie"), Sandra Dyba (Andrew), Cynthia Dutchover, Tammy Salinas (Lorenzo), Francis Dutchover (Jaime Mendoza), Brenda Dutchover (John Stokes), Rebecca Hernandez (David), Rachel Kunkel (Mike), Patricia Tellep (Gary), Delia Bennett (Jeff), Gabriela Puertas (Adrian), Ismael Dutchover Jr. and Rafael Hernandez, Jr..
