He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard R. Patterson and Virginia Sapp Patterson; his wife Barbara Diane McNeill Patterson; his sister Jeannene Ann Patterson Lanford; and his brothers-in-law, David James McNeill, Jr. and Donald Joseph McNeill.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff (Rae), Scott and Lisa; his grandsons, Connor (Railey), Spencer, Ryan, Michael and Daniel; his great grandchild Camden; and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Bradley McNeill and Cassandra McNeill Hunter (Joe). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
