He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Ayala and Manuela Torres-Ayala; his brother Pablo Ayala; and his son Armando Javier Ayala of Monterrey. He is survived by: his wife Manuela Ayala (Mela); his children, Jose Ayala (Erica) of Batesville, Veronica Ayala of Batesville, Criselda Ayala of Batesville, Omar Ayala (Rosemary) of Uvalde, Francisco Ayala (Shavonne) of Batesville and Matias Robles of Batesville; and his siblings, Gloria Leal of Batesville, Eva Garza of Batesville, Martha Martinez of Aguascalientes, Rebecca Lopez of Monterrey, Alfredo Ayala of Monterrey and Maria Morales of Uvalde. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
