He was predeceased by: his father James Jones; his stepfather Alvin Ray; his brother Eric Jones; his grandparents, Joseph, Beatice Landry, James, Edith Jones and Mariah Ray; his great-grandparents, Alex Jones and Julia Jones; and his uncles, Jerry Jones, Ernest Landry, Joesph Landry Junius and Ervin Landry Landry.
He is survived by: his mother Audrey Mae Landry Ray; his son Gregory Charles Smith (Shantell Smith); his wife Phyllis Smith Landry; his daughter Shantell M. Smith; his grandchildren, Ja'keydric Smith (A'Miah), Alayisha S. Flowers, Anaiaha G. Flowers and Se'Vyn Amora Smith; and his sisters, Kimberly Ray and Ersula Michelle Jones.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Encouragers Church (8203 John Martin Rd, Baytown, TX 77521). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM at the same location.
