He is survived by : his children, Heriberto Vela (Ashley Prichard), Elizabeth Tellez (Heliodoro Tellez), Salvador Saul Vela (Maribel Vela) and Wilfredo Vela (Stephanie Halliburton). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
