Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 7th 2000 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Broussard's Mortuary (Silsbee) (490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, Texas 77656).
Evia Anne "Evie" Whisenant Ard, age 89, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 1, 1999, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on November 7, 1909, in Silsbee, they were the daughter of Alvin W. Whisenant and Minerva J. Cravey Whisenant. Evie spent most of their life in Silsbee before retiring to The Camp in Silsbee, Texas, between Burkeville and Hemphill. They were employed by Driving town from all around the world. Evie is survived by her husband Dennis Ard, their son, Earl Ard, and his wife, Betty of Silsbee; as well as grandchildren Carolyn Renee Ard and Katrina Lynn Ard, both of Silsbee. They were preceded in death by their parents and siblings. A gathering of family and friends was held on Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Broussard's Mortuary in Silsbee. A memorial service took place on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM at the church. Burial followed on Friday, March 5, 1999, at Frank’s Branch Cemetery in Silsbee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evie's name to the J.R. Huffman Public Library, 375 Sabine Street, Hemphill, Texas 75948-9695. May their memory bring comfort to those who knew them.
