It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Vernon Akins of Bedford, Texas, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernon R. Akins and Yvonne Akins (Jeter). He is survived by : his wife Malta Evans Akins; his daughters, Malynn Harris (John), Melissa Rossa (Joe) and Marihelen Wieberg (Neil); his siblings-in-law, Linda and Larry Seedig; his nephews, Lyle Seedig (Julie) and Landry Seedig (Jamie); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Katelyn, Brett, Crew, Brooke, Presley and Taylor.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the White's Chapel Methodist Church (185 S White Chapel Blvd, Southlake, TX 76092).
