He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Turk Thoms and Fred Thoms; and his son Joseph Allee Thoms. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Handy Thoms; his children, Sarah Elaine Lucke (Paul) of Baytown, Wayne Allen Thoms (Meredith) of Beeville and Wesley Hutchins Thoms (Jerica) of Skidmore; his siblings, David Thoms (JoAnn) of Three Rivers and Bernadine Ploeger (Leslie) of Gonzales; his sister-in-law Sarah Kay Handy Schuster (Walter) of College Station; and his grandchildren, Claire, Caroline Lucke of Baytown, Ryan, Tricia Thoms of Roosevelt, Arizona, Matheson, Whitney, Wrenn Thoms of Beeville, Jeron and Iris Thoms of Skidmore. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
